I have only ever adopted pets. Actually, everyone adopts pets, but I have only ever had humane society, outcasts or stray animals.

My latest family rescue was for my dog Cody. He is an Australian Shepard that we got a hold of through an Aussie shelter a few towns over. He was previously beaten in the basement; we think by a man, since he is scared of men and won’t go in the basement.

I can not imagine my life without him. I try to take him on walks and when I do he is so appreciative. My dad will take him to work occasionally and contrary to popular belief, my mom really does love him even though he is infatuated with her. He adds so much personality to our house, and I really couldn’t imagine him not greeting me happily, running in circles, as I come home from work or school.
